Celebrating 50 years of Christian education in Wilson County!

Introduction to Our School:

McClain Christian Academy is a Category I school approved by the Tennessee Department of Education.  It follows rules and regulations mandated by the state of Tennessee.  Teachers are licensed by the state of Tennessee.  Sixty percent of its teaching staff has Master's degrees or higher.  School curriculum is aligned with the Tennessee state standards.

Our vision is to prepare minds for leadership and hearts for service.  We have high expectations for all of our students and expect each one to reach high and expect success.   We place a premium on moral and spiritual values, encouraging our students to deepen their chosen faith, in an atmosphere in which all beliefs can flourish.

We are proud of our academic merit with our students achieving outstanding examination results. Our staff to student ratio gives us the flexibility to shape the daily curriculum around the needs of individual students, identifying their abilities and developing them. All of our staff contributes to life beyond the classroom through their commitment to club, sporting, and fundraising activities.

Everything we do focuses on the needs of the students. Through nurturing the individual, our students grow up ready to live in the outside world and be confident in what they can achieve.

Our Objectives:

MCA's greatest mission is to provide our students with a quality curriculum that encourages and challenges the application and expansion of knowledge and interests.

The educational experience is fostered by a dedicated community of students, faculty and parents. We believe that the success of students depends not only on their physical and academic well-being, but also on their emotional development. The emphasis on good citizenship, Christian morals and values, respect, self responsibility, and trustworthiness will be instilled daily.

The instructional delivery is to be accomplished not only through classroom instruction, but also through the utilization of technology and learning centers.

History:

Pixie School started in the home of Edna Bennett in the mid 1960's. Throughout the years, Pixie School has served Lebanon with academic excellence. In the spring of 1998, Pixie Pre-School moved into the current location to enlarge the school to meet the growing needs of Lebanon. In 2006, the school became incorporated as McClain Christian Academy and received its 501c(3) non-profit status.

MCA currently enrolls students in areas of Pre-K3 through 12th grades. In the Spring of 2008, MCA announced the unique educational partnership with Cumberland University. The new MCA high school courses will be located on the campus of Cumberland University. The McClain Christian Academy classes along with the collaborative efforts with Cumberland University will have a direct emphasis of college preparatory academics for the high school students.

McClain Christian Academy continuously strives to meet the academic excellence for all students.
